What I love about Italian food is they are made fresh in the kitchen — from recipes that are often handed down over generations. Just imagine a generous amount of sauce, hand rolled meatballs and freshly grated cheese — all of it dripping with delightful flavors!
I remembered one of my favorite TV chefs, Giada De Laurentiis from her Everyday Italian cooking show; she once mentioned that “Food brings people together on many different levels. It’s nourishment of the soul and body; it’s truly love.” True enough, it is common knowledge that Italians are deeply versed in the gioie della tavola, or “the joys of the table.” In fact, Italians are fondly associated with joy, warmth and magic created around the Italian table where the deepest ties of love and friendship are developed and strengthened.
With UrChoice Bistro Café Cebu, Italian food is more than just pizza and spaghetti. There’s a wide range of ingredients, flavors, and dishes that anyone can enjoy and have a fill on. And this is what I’ve experienced last weekend. Truly a gastronomic feast from pizza to steak dishes with fun and inspiring stories from the man behind the bistro cafe, Giovanni Galli, as he entertained us with how each dish was made and complemented with the Pinoy ingredients and way of cooking.

Genova seafood pasta with mussels, scallop, herbs

BRUSCHETTA
An Italian antipasto made of grilled bread rubbed with garlic and topped with olive oil and salt with tomato and cream cheese dips
RUSTIC POTATOES
Potatoes drenched in olive oil and garlic
BACALAO GENOVESE
Tomato and black olives on White wine sauce and onions
POLPETTINE
Italian meat balls, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan baked in oven. Served with two cups of rice.
OSSOBUCO
American beef shank cooked in traditional Milanese style. Served with rice.
TAGLIATA
Imported American cuts served with potatoes, Arugula leaves, and Parmesan. Available on Fridays to Saturdays.
