When I learned that Cebu City Marriott Hotel will be closing its doors on January 1, 2018 after twenty fruitful years of being one of the premier landmarks here in Cebu, I can’t help but reminisce the unforgettable memories I’ve had which Marriott Hotel have become a witness of those treasured moments.
The most unforgettable and even one of the surreal moments of my life was last May 6, when I finally met and got to talk with Ms. Raquel Choa, the Ambassador of Philippine Cacao and the magnanimous talent behind The Chocolate Chamber. Listening to her humble beginnings and how her passion for cacao outweighed all the challenges that came her way had totally inspired me.
Being a huge chocoholic, it was a delight watching her work her magic as she prepares her famous authentic tsokolate and feasting on her chocolate creations was such a gastronomic experience!
Thanks to Chef Chachpol Suaisom and his crew for the cocktails infused with Ms. Raquel Choa’s chocolates, everything was totally exquisite!

After her Live to Share inspiring talk, I was happy and humbled to have known such a special woman — who’s a Super Mom to her 8 kids, an instrument of hope for the rebel returnees who were given jobs as farmers in the mountains and truly The Chocolate Queen to a lot of chocoholics like me.

Thanks Ms. Raquel Choa and Cebu City Marriott Hotel for this amazing experience and huge thanks to ISTORYA.NET for this rare opportunity!
A chocoholic’s dream is to eat and savor chocolates all her life without feeling the guilt but meeting THE Chocolate Queen is one ultimate dream, indeed!
