Penitential Walk with Jesus paves the way for the Sinulog 2020 activities

The devotees of the Holy Infant Jesus will gather on January 9, 2020, at 3 o’clock in the morning at the Fuente Osmeña for the Penitential Walk with Jesus.

OPENING SALVO FOR SINULOG

This religious activity ushers the start of the Sinulog activities in Cebu City. Sinulog is the annual tradition celebrated every third Sunday of January to honor the Santo Niño (Child Jesus). This is done through a dance ritual that tells the story of the Filipinos’ pagan past and their acceptance to Christianity.

THE ROUTE

The devotees and the Augustinian friars will take more than a kilometer-route from Fuente Osmeña through Osmeña Boulevard leading to the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño. The devotees are asked to bring with them their rosaries, candles, and statues of Sto. Niño.
