Summit Galleria Cebu marked the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year by lighting up their dreamy and sparkly 12-foot Christmas tree.
GALING SA PUSO: PUSO TREE OF HOPE
Inspired by Cebu’s very own hanging rice or popularly known as “puso,” this year’s theme is all about the season of giving. Summit Galleria aims to inspire guests through their “Galing sa Puso” program.
The Cebuano’s well-loved triangular-shaped rice wrapped in coconut leaf strips has a double purpose this yuletide season – it serves as a Christmas ornament in the hotel’s “Puso Tree of Hope” and also an instrument of hope for the children of Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary for everyone is encouraged to pick a puso ornament and fill it with their donations for these children.
CHRISTMAS BOOK DRIVE
Hotel guests, employees, and partners are encouraged to join Summit Hotels in collecting new and pre-loved books for children from 0 to 12 years old. The book drive is inspired by Mr. John Gokongwei, Jr., an avid reader who has helped build institutions for learning as well as provide the underprivileged scholarships. The donated books will be given to Summit hotel’s chosen charity serving children this Christmas.
SUMMIT ART GALLERY
Art is ingrained in the Summit Hotels and Resorts group’s business model which was inspired and instilled in them by the family’s art enthusiast, Mr. Frederick D. Go, President and CEO of Robinsons Land Corporation.
Through the love for arts, the group has forged great relationships and has already secured a handful of influential and inspirational art partners including partnerships with master artists such as Mr. Nemi Mirandad, Mr. Augusto Salvador, among others.
The Gokongwei Gallery is located at the fourth level of Summit Galleria Cebu where the beautiful and one-of-a-kind art pieces from Aninaw Art Collective are currently on display. Aninaw Art Collective is a multi-generational convergence of local artists based in Cebu who is passionate about promoting Cebu as a popular art destination in the country and the world.
