Children’s Paradise Montessori School Promotes Holistic Youth Development with the Integrated Boot Camp

It’s summer vacation for students and youth. After another academic year of study, the learning still continues — but in an even more fun and engaging setting.

Children’s Paradise Montessori School (CPMS) is holding a summer program that will help youth develop their creative sides while at the same time build their strengths.

Professional artists will be personally training youth participants during the seven-week Integrated Boot Camp (IBC) which carries the theme “Theater Arts and Creative Ecology.”

CPMS President Marivic Bathan said the IBC aims to provide programs that will bring children and the youth closer to the realities of life, particularly those affecting the environment.

“With a very relevant theme on Ecology, Theater Arts will be the effective means to inspire, educate, and empower the participants and its audience to take heed of the challenge to go back to the basics to save Mother Earth,” she said.

The IBC, which will run from May 20 to July 6, will focus on different forms of art each week. These include the allegorical form of theatre, photography, music studies, and rhythmic instruments, and musical theater.

IBC is a one-of-a-kind and a full-packed camp with not only quality theater and visual arts, dance, songwriting and music composition workshops, but also FUN and ADVENTURE with an overnight family camp-out, a visit to the Cebu Safari, and a cultural exposure through RAFI’s Gabi-isaKabilin.

It will conclude with the actual production of The Integrated Boot Camp Musical Play.

To do this, CPMS will be bringing together a competent pool of professional creative artists to serve as trainers and facilitators of the IBC participants.

Leading the group is Rudy Aviles who will act as the creative director and Emman Mante as his assistant creative director. Mante is the founder and director of independent theatre group Young Thespians of Cebu. Dennis Gregory Sugarol, internationally multi-awarded choir director of CPMS Choir, will be the musical director of the musical play.

✔️ Professional songwriter, record producer, and musical director Jude Gitamondoc, who is a two-time recipient of the Awit Awards, will be the composer and arranger.

✔️ Other trainers are Nino Banares for percussion and rhythmic instruments; Alfie Mosqueda as choreographer; Crisanto Etorma as visual artist, photographer, and videographer known for his unconventional and fresh style; and the internationally-trained and experienced Rosebelle Daculan as camp facilitator.

The IBC will be held at the OAD Tabor Hill in Purok 3, Talamban, Cebu City.
