Zonta Club of Cebu 1 hosted a presscon to launch its series of symposia on women leadership to advocate awareness of violence against women organized by the Zonta 1 PR and Linkage team. Attending were Zontians Mila C. Espina (moderator), Zontians Tess Chan, VP External Gina Atienza, Bee Smith, President Minnie Yuvienco, Zeny Uy, Liza Torres and Paulette Liu.
The leadership program of Zonta Club of Cebu 1 led by President Minnie Yuvienco and Chair Paulette Liu in cooperation with the education and advocacy teams of Zonta 1 is convening transformative empowerment and leadership program for women this coming Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 1PM to 5:30PM at the Maayo Hotel Conference Room, 7th Floor, Maayo Hotel, Plaridel St. Mandaue City. President Minnie stressed that this “first biennium 2019-2020 project of Zonta Club 1 is a reinforcement our thrust to prevent Violence Against Women!”
Entitled “The Quiet Strength of Women – A Force to Change the World,” the symposium invited five internationally renowned speakers from TWCCTW will form the panel of presenters. The invited International speakers will tackle practical discussions on identifying self – identity, confidence building and developing creativity and empowerment. The strength of the women springs from the home where values and child rearing patterns are nurtured.
Susan Friedmann, CSP will speak about How to Find Your Uniqueness to Transform Your Leadership Style. Lynnn Leahy, MA will tackle on Emotionally Intelligent Leadership: Challenging the Status Quo. Transformative Leadership Lessons from Silicon Valley will be shared by Rebecca Morgan, CSP, CMC. While Rhonda Faught will speak about Building Bridges and Breaking Barriers-Female Style, with special participation of Jana Stanfield, an international speaker and entertainer known for her multi-platinum songs.
Chair Zontian Paulette Liu will work on the output of the seminar to involve the Academe and the community to help develop the “inner strength” of the women to help men in changes to improve the quality of life. “I presented this project to Zonta 1 because it is relevant to our goal of developing confident Zontians and women to emerge from her shell, and share her ideas and service!” Paulette Deduque-Liu, Chair of the Women’s Leadership Conference & PSTD Cebu Director, Philippine Society for Training & Development said. The speakers traced the roots of transformative leadership, “in the home where the child is nurtured like a seed that grows to become a fruit bearing tree or a fragrant flower!” she added.
The event is open to the public. Conference Fee is Php 300 per participant. Do represent your organization at this conference and bring along Senior level women or women moving into leadership roles.
