Since it’s launch in 1997, the Japanese Film Festival (JFF), or widely known and appreciated as EIGASAI in the Philippines, Filipinos have embraced and come to love Japanese films through the years. It has become the largest and popular film festival attracting 25,000 audiences every year.
The film festival is presented and run by the Japan Foundation, Manila and held annually from July to August, in celebration of the Philippine-Japan Friendship Month. EIGASAI showcases a variety of cinematic delights from drama, anime, mystery to recently released films.
In partnership with Ayala Cinema Cebu, the film festival kicks off on Thursday, August 23 until Sunday, August 26 and it is FREE to the public on a first come, first served basis.
