TOURISM STUDENTS’ DAY (TSD) – MARCH 15, 2025

Gelena N. Asis-Dimpas, Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 7, opened her speech by celebrating ITF’s 10th anniversary, recognizing how it has grown from a simple travel event into a thriving community of explorers and industry professionals.
She highlighted ITF 2024’s remarkable success, which drew 189 exhibitors, 28,000 visitors, and P250 million in on-site sales. But beyond the numbers, she emphasized that travel is about connections, experiences, and stories—the heart of every journey.
Asis-Dimpas also stressed tourism’s far-reaching impact—from supporting local guides and transport operators to empowering small entrepreneurs and industry executives. She underscored ITF’s role in strengthening communities and driving economic growth in the region.
Expressing gratitude to media partners for their role in inspiring travelers, she also acknowledged the ITF organizing team for their dedication in making the event a success. Looking ahead to ITF 2025, she invited everyone to be part of an even bigger and bolder travel festival, encouraging attendees to spread the word and continue supporting tourism as a force for community empowerment and development.
