Globe myBusiness, the Micro, Small and Medium-size Enterprise (MSME) arm of Globe Telecom, is holding the “Lakbay” learning session in Cebu to help enterprises in the local tourism industry create perfect destinations through value-driven digital solutions.
The Globe myBusiness “Lakbay” learning series was established last year and ran for 10 legs. Its focus was to educate tourism-related businesses and directly engage customers in order to build a stronger presence in the top 10 identified tourist destinations.
“We had a fairly successful run for the ‘Lakbay’ sessions last year and we’re quite excited to hold it in Cebu, the ‘Queen City of the South.’ We are aware that there are a lot of tourism businesses such as Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe establishments in the area, which is why we are bringing it here with more relevant topics. We also infused an experiential booth so we can better share how businesses can succeed through digital products and solutions from Globe myBusiness,” said Anne David, Globe myBusiness Segment Marketing Head.
Cebu is among the top tourist destinations in the country with tourist arrivals reaching 5.57 million in 2018 based on statistics from the Department of Tourism in Central Visayas. The region hosted a total of 8 million tourists last year, contributing P44.2 billion to its economy.
As the Philippine tourism continues to improve, MSMEs also take a big part in driving its growth. Thus, Globe myBusiness is ready to guide and empower MSMEs through digitization by helping turn their business into a fast adaptive one as well as by enhancing their business competencies.

The learning session will feature speakers who will assist SMEs, particularly those in the tourism sector, to level up their business by enhancing their customers’ experience and creating the perfect destinations.
Among the noted speakers who will share their expertise are Maica La’o, Hospitality Consultant and Market Manager for Philippines and Asia Pacific at Cloudbeds, makers of award-winning property management software, who will discuss “The Travelers Journey and How Hotels Can Win at Every Stage.” Other speakers are Jojit Lanas, Globe myBusiness Cluster Head for Visayas-Mindanao (Technology in the Hotel Industry; Cat de Leon-Vinuya, Director of Innovation at Adspark, Globe Telecom’s digital marketing solutions company (“The Digital Playing Field for Tourism); and Rogelio Gabiano Jr., travel blogger (@pinoytravelfreak) (Trends in Customer Experience for the Next-Generation Market).
