Cebu has remained a bright spot for investors of voice services looking for an alternative to Metro Manila’s congestion and high-maintenance workers, with its large pool of tech-savvy, highly-motivated, career-driven, and hardworking people.

The Kittelson & Carpo Consulting said that there are three new BPO companies registered weekly in the first quarter of 2018. The Contact Center Association of the Philippines projected that the industry will have over $40 billion in revenue by 2022. In fact, the Philippines remains one of the top locations for voice services, with Cebu being one of the leading BPO investment areas in the country.

“With high quality healthcare professionals, the Philippines is a conducive environment for our company to thrive. We won’t have a problem delivering the needs of our clients here,” said Shearwater Health President and Chief Financial Officer Tom Kendrot.

Riding on the crest of resurgence of the BPO industry in the country and the competitive business environment in Cebu, Shearwater Health’s transfer to a new and bigger site will open more job opportunities for nurses and clinicians, with openings for USRN, PHRN, and medical coders. With a current staff of 567, they will be expanding to more than 1,200 by 2019.

Shearwater Health has been a CPO® industry leader as well as in the provision of high quality clinical staff for healthcare providers, payers, and companies requiring skilled clinical experience since 1973. The global giant boasts of over 2,000 clinicians in HITRUST-certified and URAC-accredited facilities in the Philippines that operate in remote, dedicated teams for its clients.

With a continuing nurse shortage in the United States with over 100,000 openings for clinical experience, Shearwater Health’s clinical and administrative outsourcing services helps various clients free up clinical staff to perform the highest priority tasks. Its clients include top US healthcare and insurance companies and service providers, including 8 of the top 10 health plans, 5 of the top 6 workers’ compensation Third Party Administrators, over 20 healthcare service providers and managed care organizations, and more than a hundred hospitals.
