DCO Publishing celebrated the launching of Cebu’s first fiction novel for young readers last September 1 at the Second Activity Area in Parkmall. The event is co-presented by the mall.
The Cebuana writer and filmmaker, Janice Y. Perez debuts in the literary world with her fantasy novel, “Brandy Pooh’s Time-Traveling Adventures, Book 1: The Legend of the Fourteen Shih Tzus.” Not only the young adults, (ages 12 to 18 years) can relate to this book but it can be enjoyed by all age groups, as well. It is available in three different formats: hardbound, softbound, and eBook.
BRANDY POOH’S TIME-TRAVELING ADVENTURES, BOOK 1
The story follows the adventures of Brandy Pooh, a shih tzu-poodle mix dog. On the day of his third birthday, Brandy Pooh realizes that his humans might no longer treat him like a puppy because they don’t acknowledge his birthday like they used to.
He tries to catch their attention by meddling in the work of the other dogs in their Home by the Sea, but the other dogs berate him for being a nuisance. Brandy Pooh is distressed to discover that a lapdog like himself really has no purpose, and it could be the reason why his humans no longer want to celebrate his birthday.
While trying to deal with his sadness alone, Brandy Pooh stumbles upon a magic wooden chest kept in the attic. He accidentally falls into it, which to his surprise, turns out to be a time-traveling machine.
BRANDY POOH LOVES THE CITY POUND
DCO Publishing will be donating part of the sales of the book to the Cebu City Pound, in their advocacy to promote responsible ownership and humane treatment of all pets.
