Golden Moments with Operation Rainbow Australia

“Thank you for being God’s instrument to answer our prayers!” said a teary-eyed mother whose young toddler recently went through reconstructive surgery. You can feel the genuine joy in every family member’s faces as their child completed the procedure conducted by Operation Rainbow Australia. This was just one of over eighty-five operations done at Dr. Ignacio M. Cortes General Hospital between June 1 to 8, 2019 as part of a medical mission.

“These are truly life-changing Golden Moments for the children and their relatives,” commented Aaron Que, the Executive Vice President of Golden Prince Hotel. He was there to witness the miracles happening in the operation room as the specialized team of doctors conducted the procedures so smoothly. After interviewing some patients and their families, he was really touched by their kind words and gratitude for this type of activity.

This mission was made possible with the assistance of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry supported by its Trustee Benny Que, who also volunteered his team to participate in this mission as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Project, “The Operation Rainbow has been doing the mission here in Cebu for the longest time. Aside from being a true-blooded Cebuano, we always have the heart for the children. This is the reason why we at Golden Prince Hotel are supporting this cause as we see the benefits will change the future of these less fortunate kids. Who knows they could be the one doing something great for Cebu in the future?”

Operation Rainbow Australia is a non-profit organization dedicated to performing free facial reconstructive surgery for children and young adults in the Philippines for almost 25 years. Kate Marek-Salapak, President of Operation Rainbow and spearheading the mission said, “in Cebu, this is the 8th year that Operation Rainbow has been conducting medical missions for children who are underserved, have limited or no access to medical care and could not afford to have reconstructive surgery.” This mission will be performed by a dedicated Australian medical team who have volunteered their skills and expertise for free.
