The Pig and Palm is the first Filipino restaurant from Michelin-starred British chef Jason Atherton and his wife Irha Atherton. As the name applies, the restaurant offers a modern Spanish tapas menu with a focus on pork dishes with an adjoining bar serving cocktails and bar snacks.
Their menu has a wide array of pig-based plates for Weekend Brunch, Lunch and Dinner to choose from. Few weeks ago, I was out with some media friends for a post-event activity with our gracious hosts. It was totally an indulgent lunch that left us so full to the brim.
A FEAST FOR THE SENSES
Here’s what we had for lunch and you’ll know why it was such a sumptuous lunch 🙂
Cauliflower salad, parmesan, parsley, walnut
Jamon and manchego cheese croquettes
Grilled mackerel, toasted sourdough, tomato, black olive, pickled onion
Pork and truffle Mac and cheese, toasted breadcrumbs
Confit pork belly, apple caramel, mashed potato, broccoli
Roasted parrot fish, clams, bacon, leeks, parsley sauce
Seafood rice, chorizo, lime
Baked 60% chocolate moelleux, salted caramel ice cream
The restaurant truly stood by its goal to bring “a taste of Spanish gastronomy to Cebu in an informal, contemporary environment.” The whole lunch experience was filled with so much flavors and spices in every meal that you rarely get from any other restaurant. And I must say, the whole plating was purely done out of love! It’s like a work of art and a masterpiece in one that you have second thoughts of eating it because it’s just too beautiful! Lols
Definitely, The Pig and Palm is a feast for the senses 🙂 It may be quite expensive but trust me, you’re in for a treat 🙂
