Gabii sa Kabilin or Night of Heritage is a special event where people visit museums and heritage spots in one night. From 6 in the evening to midnight, guests enjoy cultural shows, exhibits, children’s activities, contests, food fairs, and other activities. Guests can walk or ride buses and tartanillas (horse-drawn carriages) to get to the participating places.

3rd stop – Fort San Pedro Still looking for route 5 bus but missed it so took the route 4 bus on an impulse heading for Museo Sugbo
The former Cebu Provincial Jail, Museo Sugbo is a brainchild of former Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia. Noted as the largest museum in the province of Cebu.
Finally took the Bus Route 5 going to Mandaue… What’s the fuss about route 5? The FOODTRIP awaits hahaha!

One of the historical landmarks of the Mactan Shrine with a backdrop artwork of the Battle of Mactan Now, Lapu-Lapu’s vanquishment of Magellan is commemorated by the crowd-drawing “Kadaugan” or Victory in Mactan every April.
Under reconstruction, the monument of Ferdinand Magellan, the first European to cross the Pacific Ocean. He’s also instrumental in playing a role in making Cebu the Cradle of Christianity in the Far East.
The monument of the first Filipino hero, Lapu-Lapu erects in the Mactan Shrine, a reminder of the great courage and heroism of the Mactan chieftain during the Battle of Mactan in April 27, 1521.

New Talisay City Hall – when I took a photo of the building, a line below the name of the edifice struck me. “Leadership is for service not for power.” Hope this thought is ingrained in all of our politicians’ mindset because that’s the true essence of good governance.
Last stop of my solo adventure, Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod where I enveloped myself in the comfort and solace of the holy place. I thank God for keeping me safe that night and letting me know more the beauty of Cebu. From north to south I was able to grasp a bit of history right before my eyes. Definitely this won’t be my last adventure
