First weekend of October in 2013 marked a memorable milestone in my life. It was my first time to travel South with complete strangers. It was a test of how I would survive coming out of my shell mingling with different peeps in the media. However my fears slowly died down when I made a BIG STEP by simply giving my trademark “tingsi” smile and introduced myself to them. Since then, I made new friends and learned a lot from the media industry may it be in print, TV and online.
I had so much fun sharing oooohhs and ahhhhs in amazement with the presence of the gentle giants, “Butandings” (whale sharks), catching up our breaths as we trekked all the way down and up to the Tumalog Falls, lounging in our comfy beds in hushed whispers of “girl talk” hehehe and capturing Oslob’s main event on a fun Sunday tagged as Cebu Parklane’s Hunat Sugbu and Sangka sa Kaha events.
All these wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for my iStorya family, Gerald Abao Yuvallos and MJ Rivera-Yuvallos who gave me the opportunity to make my dream as a “journalist” a reality even for a couple of days hehehe. And thanks Cebu Parklane for the accomodation and the avenue to appreciate Oslob and its people with a lot of respect. The Oslobanons made my trip a memorable one!
